Default Fob issue

I changed the battery in my fob, now I can not do a remote start. It still unlocks/locks the doors and the panic works OK.

Is there any way to reprogram the fob to restore this function?

Lightbulb A Long Shot Worth trying

The problem may not be related to changing the battery. Do you have a second fob to try? If it works, then the first fob may have developed a faulty switch internally (maybe a cold solder joint). If the second fob also exhibits the same problem, then (and this may be a long shot) is there any indication on the instrument cluster when trying to remotely start the engine of a "hood open" condition?

Changing a battery should not cause the fob to lose its programming.

Default Fob Issue - fixed (Maybe)

I took my truck to local dealer for diagnosis. what they told me was the brake pedal switch is going bad. Kind of makes since why remote start and cruise control wouldn't work when I have the service 4WD light on. Wont know for sure for a while, heading to Wyoming tomorrow for work and no local parts stores had the switch.

Will let everyone know after I get back home in a few weeks.

Thanks for the help
