Default Oil in no. 2 cylinder

I have a 2011 ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi. I was driving the other day and it had trouble getting up a hill. It was just sputtering and ran really rough. I brought it in to my mechanic and they did a compression test and checked the fuel injectors. Both were good. The check engine light test revealed a problem with the no. 2 cylinder. They checked all of the plugs and coils and all good. He pulled the plug on the no. 2 and found some oil on the plug. Thinks I have a seal that is bad. Thinks it's going to be around $1,500 and since he has to send it to a machine shop, it will be in the shop for about a week. Does this sound right?

Depends on where the oil is coming from...... might be a bad valve seal, might be a broken ring. (though, compression test should have shown that.....)

How many miles on it?

Going to move this to the fourth gen ram section for ya as well.

Welcome to DF!
