Dad's 2012 hemi 1500

Just turned 100K

Does not even click, acts like starter fuse is out. checked fuses and relays, swapped around.

Dash stays lit, radio shuts off in start position

Handheld is unable to get a data connection from the DLC for 8050, 9141, or CAN link.

Truck has been on battery charger @ 15.3 volts, also tried jumping off the Duramax (2 big 12's in parallel). No dice.

 

Manual, or automatic?

With either trans, there is at least on safety switch, either on the clutch, or on the trans park/neutral switch.

 

Have you checked for battery voltage at the starter motor when the key is in the Start position? If no or low voltage there, without the charger connected, check the voltage at the battery cables (not on the battery post, but on the cable terminal instead) when in the Start position.

So you have START position signal getting out, but no comm with Diagnostic BUS.

That helps a bit ruling things out. Go over those fuses again. Is the RED security light flashing with key in the ON position?
