I have a '14 1500, 5.7 w 8 speed ZF tranny. 53,000 miles. I tow a little with it.... 5,000# trailer occasionally... maybe 20% of the time.

So as I approach 100K and manual says lifetime fluid... what would YOU do? Have it serviced at the dealership?

X2 on the "If it aint broke, dont fix it". however, i have the 6 speed version on my Beamer and i plan on changing fluid and pan filter at 75k miles ( i am at 67k now) and then 40k thereafter (90% of my driving is non highway), changing the pan filter every other 40k. It i also listed as "lifetime fluid". Will only be using the expensive recommended ZF fluid too.

the price for fluid and the filter incorporated pan is probably $800 in Canada...iirc....so nope, haven't done any at this point.

heard stories of people getting there pan stolen its so $....imagine coming out and the trans pan is missing
