Default Radio issues

So I just traded in my 05 Ford F-150 Lariat for a 09 Dodge 1500 Hemi 4X4. It was a straight trade so I have no warranty or anything on the vehicle. I’m slowly having to fix things myself little by little as I track them down and learn what’s wrong as I’m no qualified mechanic ( more of the shade tree type ) and I’m not that great with all these damn computer systems ( hell I can barely operate a desktop ). So the radio is the basic uconnect style that had no issues when I picked it up. Now the radio will shut off by itself and not turn back on. I would pull the fuse and nothing. Disconnect the battery and nothing. But if I pulled the PCM fuse and reset the truck it would work again. I did it 4 times successfully and now it won’t work. The only problem I had before is the volume **** wouldn’t operate correctly but I could still control volume from steering wheel function controls. Any help or advice? This is one I haven’t found a fix to amongst many other things. Thanks
