Default Brake light out

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie with LED brake/tail lights. My passenger brake light is out, and dodge is telling me I cannot replace a bulb that I have to buy an entire taillight assembly for $307!!

Is there another way?!

Typically just a few LEDs will fail, not the entire assembly. Before replacing the assembly or disassembling it to see if you can figure out what's wrong, I'd confirm you have power to the assembly. Do the parking lights or 4-way flashers work?

There are some aftermarket LED taillights available for the standard Ram 1500 but I'm not sure they claim to work with the Laramie / Limited. You also could consider the used market.
