Coolant temp is too low and throttle position sensor is going off
I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with a 6.4 hemi and it keeps throwing a coolant temp is too low and the throttle positioning sensor keeps going off. When it dose this the temp gauge dropps to 0. Any ideas?
Possibilitites:
- Is the low coolant temperature "real". If so, the thermostat is failed, stuck open. Replace the thermostat. Multiple threads do indicate to Do NOT ever put a low temp (160-180) thermostat in a Hemi. They are designed to higher temperature for power and efficiency. Supposed to run hot. Put in the oem/stock temperature, it should be 203F. Install the correct thermostat. Let the thermostat and the rad/fan do their jobs as designed. if you want an upgrade, go with a high flow Tstat and extra electric fans, however always stick with the same temperature rating.
- If the low coolant temperature is not real, then engine coolant temperature sensor is failed. Replace the sensor.
- I do not know what "the throttle positioning sensor keeps going off" is supposed to mean. The TPS is unrelated to the temperature, completely separate issue. Test the TPS by procedure, replace if necessary.
If none of the above applies, or they are indeed linked, then consider that the whole PCM is suspect and probably fubar'd.

I know this is a long shot being that this thread is 7yrs old, did you ever find a solution to your problem? I have just experienced this exact same problem and would like to know if you were ever able to fix it?
