Looking for ways to improve fuel economy on a 2017 2500 6.4L
2017 Ram 2500 6.4L Big Horn with 6'4" bed, full truck cap, 4x4
I am looking at options I can implement to help improve fuel economy. For the most part I seem to get 15-16mpg on the highway (on some pure highway trips I have managed as high as 18mpg) and about 13mpg when running local.
I run 89 octane fuel exclusively. I found with 87 the mileage was significantly lower. The cost difference in fuel price was negated by the increased mileage.

I agree. Those are pretty good numbers. I wouldn't complain at all.
Not complaining at what I was getting. Was just wondering if anyone had found a way to get a little more out of it.
Interestingly, my 2009 got better with age. When we first got it, the typical highway run was 16mpg. Now, 9 years and 220,000 miles later, it can easily get 19mpg on open highway, sometimes as high as 21mpg.
Can't wait to see what an 8,500lb / 32ft camper trailer does to the 2017 later this year. I think there will be a lot of fuel stops.
Thanks everyone.
