UConnect in 2010 Dodge Journey

I was advised prior to purchasing this vehicle it was equipped with UConnect. However, when I try to connect it to my phone, it tells me that it is not equipped to connect. Did I not try to correct it right or do I need some additional equipment to connect it? Thanks.
