Default Rear diff fluid change

Evening gentlemen.
this is probably an easy fix but certainly has me stumped.
2012 bighorn, level shop floor, drained exactly 3 quarts rear diff but took only 2 quarts before coming out of fill hole. Clearly there is an issue but what? I drove to work next day.
( only 4 miles) that evening after shift, pulled around to shop and pulled fill hole plug. Fluid POURED out. What in Dodge hell is going on I ask???
thanks..

Hmmm, about the only thing I can think of is to check the differential vent tube to make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
