Default Door bottom rust prevention

I just took delivery of a new 18 Ram Quad cab 4x4, my previous truck was a 07 Quad cab that I put 220000 trouble free km's on. The only issue I had was rust on the bottom seams of the doors and rust on the wheel wells. I am thinking about removing the rubber seal on the bottom of the doors on this truck to prevent moisture, salt and sand from being trapped between the door and the seal, what are your opinions on if this. I am having the truck sprayed with rust proofing oil next week, but I really want to do everything I can to keep this new rig rust free.

A bodyshop friend of mine said to occasionally remove the taillights at the carwash & use the wand to clean out any gunk that collects above the wheel well to help prevent rust from forming on the inside.

I used to take the door panels off my jeep trucks and clean out the bottoms of the doors, then pour a bunch of rustoleum rusty metal primer to coat the whole bottom. But seems like most dodges get rust in the seam where the skin is folded over the inner door. I guess you just have to keep an eye on them & if you see cracks in the paint, dope them up as soon as possible??
