Help identify noise

Default Help identify noise

Getting a clicking noise from motor compartment sounds like it's coming from front of engine hopefully video below works if not copy and paste for YouTube video thanks

That sounds pretty bad. I'm assuming from the noise that the pace of the ticking increases with engine speed as well. Have you tried removing the oil fill cap to see if the noise gets louder with the engine fill cap removed? If the noise does not get louder with the fill cap removed, you might try starting the engine with the serpentine belt removed just to make sure the noise is not somehow due to one of the belt-driven accessories, but from the video it sure sounds like something from within the engine.

I did take the belt off noise is still there getting codes for cam sensor now , going to guess it's a frozen lifter and bad cam and bearings, didn't sound like the other videos seen online. Just bought the truck it's going back.

I thought I'd come back and give an update on this the original noise was the lifters, after the dealership replace the lifters the truck would no longer run right but the noise was gone. The trucks been sitting at the dealership for 5 months now they put two different engine in it .called me yesterday and told me it was done the new engine sound that worse than the old engine not sure where to go from here I no longer want this truck.
