change tire size for winter

As long as you pick a tire with the same outside diameter as your 20's it should be fine, without needed to change the speedometer. What size do you have for 20's; the 275/60R20's?

Noelie84, yes that is the tire size currently on the truck. I have 265/70R17's that I want to run for the winter. For the 2010 I used a Diablo Predator and a program in it to change things and it worked very well. That's not necessary for the 2014? I'm a little concerned about the trany. Thanks for the tip jkeaton!

Ok. Going to a 265/70R17 will drop your tire overall diameter by about 1.3 inches and may mean needing to have the speedo changed. Your local service department should be able to tell you for sure, or possibly somebody in here who's done it can chime in about whether they had to or not. A 285/70R17 will keep the diameter within 2/10ths of an inch, but would probably mean getting E-load tires.
FWIW, the 17" wheel should clear your calipers fine, since that size has been the base option on most years of the 4th gen trucks and they don't increase rotor diameters or use different calipers for different trim packages.

Here's a link 00Canuck, I put it in metric, I'm guessing you're in Canada like myself. You can change it to imperial by clicking on the box where it says metric and a drop down box will open. Ram's with 17" wheels are usually 265/70R-17 but tire shops usually recommend the 285/70R-17 when downsizing to 17" wheels as Noelie84 stated. Going from 20's down to 17's tire shops usually won't recommend the 265/70-17
