Default Need help troubleshooting a stereo head unit

I have a 2012 quad, cab n chassis. Came with a 2 channel head unit which always bothered me in a 4 door truck. Swapped to a pioneer head unit over the weekend with all 4 channels connected but still no sound out of the back. Pulled a rear speaker out and tested it and it's functional, So that tells me that there is some sort of disconnect between the head unit and the rear speakers. Does anyone have an idea where I might start looking for this disconnect?

no. This is a bare bones cab n chassis work truck. This is why they felt it was ok to put a 2 channel head unit in a 4 door truck, I'm assuming. The disconnect is probably where an amp would normally be found but would it only affect the rear speakers?
