Two days of driving and no stalls. Looking very promising. I’m going to give it a week or two before I call it good. Thanks so much for the suggestion. It’s comical that this has gone on for so long because of something so simple. I wish I would have posted here sooner.

I don’t believe it was ever replaced, but hoping the throttle body cleaning did the trick.

I hope you fixed it. Usually, the symptoms you describe are the torque converter not unlocking. This used to happen to me with a chevy truck, GM eventually figured out that when hot, the TC would stay locked and the truck would die. There are others that have had this happen with their rams. So if the symptom comes back, look there. The throttle body could be it if somehow the computer couldn't figure out the closed loop idle parameters due to grime. Good luck.

Yeah, I think they got the solenoids for many of their transmissions from the same company, and all of them sucked. I can't count the number of them we changed when I was workin' at the chevy dealer. (and the number of GM cars/trucks from that era I have seen with the transmission unplugged, simply because of this problem. )

I also own a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi. I was just going to make a post because I have the same issue with the stalling. The truck starts great, idles great. But, when I get going and come to a red light or intersection where I need to stop, then the truck stalls. I have only had this truck for about 8 months. The stall issue started about 2 months ago. My son-in-law is a mech but he is up north working in the NorthWest Territories as an Ice Road Trucker and won't be back for 9 more weeks. I can't clean the Throttle Body myself because I don't have the mechanical knowledge for that. If I were to take it to a shop, what would I be looking at for Book Time to clean it up? I can't afford much as I'm not working currently so hope it would not be too much.

Cleaning it was very simple. I just watched the video below to get an idea of how to do it. All it is is loosening two clamps, unplugging two connectors and removing 4 bolts to get the throttle body off. All you need is a screwdriver and I believe it was an 8 mm socket. Of course you'll also need a can of throttle body cleaner. Can be done in 30 minutes. I paid $7 for the cleaner.

Also, I should mention that it has been nearly two weeks since I cleaned it and no stalls since then!
