Hi everyone I have a 2012 ram 1500 4.7 and its overheating at idle after having the hoses for the heater core bypassed. I don't think it has anything to do with the problem but I don't know... Oh and it cools right down once I start driving.
Please help!

How many miles on it? I've seen eroded water pump impellers cause this at idle. They flow fine at speed but don't move much water at idle. It's also possible your radiator might be partly stopped up. If your heater core was hooked up and working, in the winter you'd see the heat fade at idle and work fine at speed.
