Default 2010 ram rer uograde

I have the basic radio with uconnect. The uconnect went out and I decided to switch it for a rer unit.
When the unit is plugged in nothing happens. I hit the open close for the DVD player and the screen says jeep then turns back off.
I believe it came from a Cherokee.
Did I just waste my money?

In order for that RER to work in your truck you need to know if it is a high speed can bus or low speed? The 2010 Ram NEEDS the High Speed can bus in order to work. What you will need to do is find out what year of Jeep that Radio came out of before you can know if its a radio problem or not. THE RER radio is not the best unit ,,, they get screwed up easily,,, will go into an auto loop and crash ,, go to this site,,, you can read more about it https://mygig-disk.com/index-rer.php You can email them any questions and they can usually help you,,,,, or you can try this site to,,,,https://navrepair.com/collections both are really good

Thank you. I am not sure what year jeep Cherokee but I think the issue is low speed or high speed. I know I needed high speed it was a last minute purchase on Ebay. got it for 90 shipped. I'd like to try and switch it out for the high speed rhr.

Thank you for the websites. I'll check them out. I was having a hard time finding whether it was lowspeed or not. The Ebay ad didnt say and I figured the 90 dollar price tag made it worth the oppsie. I'm sure I can get my money back though.
