Default 2014 Ram 1500, Electrical Issues

Hello all,

first post looking for a second opinion before continuing more trouble shooting. I bought a 2014 ram 1500 w/ a 3.6L flex fuel motor , 8 speed transmission, and with 56000 km. on 2018/3/26 with a minor front end fender accident that has been repaired by the dealer. I’ve had the truck for just over a year and barley put 7000 km on it and now i cant even pull it out of my driveway. The problem started in June 2019 the truck ETC started acting up (service ETC) with a check engine light showing 3 codes (P0642-pcm sensor, P2122-accelerator pedal position sensor volt low, U1424-implausible engine torque signal received). Would run rough and motor would just shut off randomly while driving. Then all of a sudden the ETC failure went away but the motor kept shutting off while driving for a while and no codes to record. After that the truck started to run for a couple weeks with no issues and now its worse than ever. The truck is showing 8 codes now. Almost all sensor related (three P0642, U1424, P1618-sensor reference voltage 1 erratic, P2122, P0339-crank shaft position sensor intermittent, P0522-engine oil pressure sensor circuit low). Its all electrical from what i can tell. Does this sound like there is bare wires exposed somewhere? I’ve noticed there is mice paw prints on my motor (not a good sign). Ive checked the throttle body seems fine and went over all the wiring that i can see to try and find shorts but found nothing wrong. The weird thing is when i put it in reverse it dies with the ETC symbol popping up. Shut the truck down and restart it the ETC symbol goes away till I put it in reverse again. Sometime when this happens i notice the RPM gauge flutters up and down but the engine is still at idle. But when im in any other gear it seems to drive fine. Everything is so random and I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Before spending a tone tying to get the dealership to find and fix the issue.

Yours is throttle-by-wire. I think the pedal position sensor is under the battery???

The sensor reference voltage code might be the entire problem. If the sensors get the wrong voltage, their return signal is also going to be wrong. PCM isn't real friendly with that..... Verify what voltage you are getting at various sensors. (anything using the 5 volt reference should have power with key on, engine off.)

so i found the issue. There is some bare wires under the truck connected to the transmission (CAN bus) wires. They became bare from chafing over time. Manufacturing defect? Never heard of this though..?..
