Looking at a 2010 1500, need opinions.
Hey i guys, i currently have a 2006 ram 1500 quad cab with the 4.7l and almost 190,000 miles. I'm tired of having no power and minimal rear seat room. I found a truck i could trade mine in on and my payments would stay about the same. 2010 1500 longhorn with the 5.7 hemi. Awesome looking truck but it has 200,000 miles. What is the lifespan/reliability look like on these trucks with the hemi. My 4.7 hasn't given any issues other than a manifold bolt. Just kinda leary about the mileage, thinking i should just hold off. Here is a link to the truck. https://www.robertstoyota.com/vehicle-details/2011-ram-1500-laramie-longhorn-columbia-tn-id-31690758
It looks nice, even possibly well maintained.... but, 14 grand for a truck with over 200K miles????? I wouldn't even consider it..... Unless the engine/trans have both been replaced recently.
If they could be talked down some what would be more realistic? I'll put in into nada or kbb here shortly and see what it brings up.Edit: nada puts it at 17,000 for clean retail.

At 200K miles????? That seems really unrealistic to me. It's getting to the age where things are going to start breaking..... Expensive things. Unless it comes with some variety of bumper to bumper warranty, I wouldn't touch it for that money. Don't think I would pay more than 4 or 5 grand for it......
It looks good. Almost TOO good. the tires look new and someone spent a lot of time detailing it. $9000-10,000 would be what I'd pay for it. I've heard the 5.7 is a little easier on fuel and a better engine overall. My 4.7 is doing pretty good but I've done a lot of work to it. I have no lack of power with my 4.7. If anything, I'm surprised I still have my drivers license. I just can't see 14K for a vehicle pushing a quarter of a million miles.
I bought my 09 Sport loaded with all but no sunroof or sliding back window,,, it had 110,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2014 and I paid 14,000.00 back then over 5 years ago,, and thats a canadian price,,, so I would say Heyyou is right about maybe 4- 5,000 tops for it. Remember its 9 years old now almost 10.
$17,000 is what I paid for my 05 2500, slt. It has the 5.7, with the nv4500, 4 wheel quad cab with 46,000 miles and it was 9 years old at the time. It's extremely over priced, this guy/lady is waiting for a sucker. I wouldn't even pay that if it was diesel with those miles.
