2012 ram 5.7L code P1524
just has this code go off in the wifes truck. As stated it just had the check engine light go off so my wife took it by autozone and they told her it was code p1524. it was suggested to replace the oil pressure sensor. so i went and bought what they said to replace but looking into it further there are two sensor next to the oil filter and there could possibly be a third on top near the rear of the engine? i was just curious on your thoughts about this if im wasting my time replacing the one they gave me, which is on the front of the engine block above the oil filter and not on the right hand side right above the oil filter or if im going in the complete wrong direction and need to be searching ontop of the the engine near the rear. Is there any way to test the oil pressure also sense there is no gauges for it.
I believe the other sensor by the filter is an oil temp sensor.
You will need to buy a mechanical oil pressure gauge with the proper fittings that would thread into the oil pressure sensor port to check actual oil pressure.
Have you checked the oil? 😁

This adaptor is for 2014 and up. The 2013 and down is shorter and a different part number. This one has a lifetime warranty. They cost $140 plus shipping on ebay and not much of a warranty.
