Default Flashing Engine Light

I've got another issue now. 2009, 1500, 5.7

went to pass on the highway the other day and the engine cut power and engine light was flashing. After a kind of coasting a nd limping along for a couple minutes, power restored although kinda rough. Code reader says P0305, misfire on #5.
Tested the coil pack on another cylinder and the misfire moved, so the coil pack was replaced. a week later I'm loaded and hooked up to my camping trailer to go hunting and I get 2 miles out of town and same thing happens, engine cuts power flashing engine light and p0305 code. Limp home and load everything into my Dakota, hook up the trailer and leave.

Mechanic cant find the code, {I didn't erase it}, and its running just fine now.

Is this the start of the dreaded lifter/flat cam issue i've been reading about?

Possibly. Could be plugs, or a wiring issue, or a selection of other things as well. How old are you plugs, and what brand/type are they?

I bought this thing used, but the plugs are not original. But I don't know the brand/type.

Wouldn't hurt to change them out then. Go with stock replacement copper plugs. Skip the rare-earth high dollar fellers. Dodge engines don't seem to like them.

What would explain the engine Losing all power and shaking when the throttle is pushed and then having it restored a couple minutes later?

Could be any number of things. Failing sensor, weak fuel pump, or a selection of other, more interesting problems.
