Default 2013 ram 1500 hemi fuel pump question

I need to install a new fuel pump in a 2013 ram 1500 hemi. It’s a 2 door truck. I’ve been looking at fuel pumps online and it looks like the fuel pump for a 2010 ram 1500 is the same as what I removed from the tank. The dude at the parts store said I needed the $400 pump. Has anyone had dealing with this sort of thing? Will the 2010 work in a 2013 tank? Everything looks the same to me.

they are wired differently as the 2010 is powered by the tipm and the 2013 is powered by a fuel pump control module. Could you make it work...possibly. I prefer to get the correct part for an effortless install...I hate jimmy rigging stuff.

is one flex fuel?

I talked to the dude at the parts store. The pump for the 2010 ram isn’t flex and the 2013 ram truck isn’t flex fuel.

It’s a 4 pin connection on both pumps. How would it be wired differently? Wouldn’t the pump still come on when the key is turned on?

Great news. The fuel pump I bought for the 2010 ram 1500, worked in the 2013 ram 1500 tank. The cheaper fuel pump works flawlessly. Didn’t have to change anything on the pump, just plugged it in and it worked. Hopefully this will save a lot of people a few hundred bucks.

It wasn't air-tec. It was Precision A30429 $191.99 before taxes. A whole lot better than $404.00
life time on the pump and that’s great for that price as well.
