Anyways, after realizing swapping to a gen 3 would be a nightmare I have questions about gen 4 swaps.

• I am looking to get a gen 4 salvage truck with a blown engine or high miles and paint damage I could fix at auction for a low price. I am currently waiting to buy back my wrecked 2012 5.7 v8 hemi 1500 with 2wd from insurance to use for parts. The vehicle has less than 50k miles on it so the main focus is getting the engine and transmission that are still doing alright after the accident. My questions are as follows:

1. Would the engine swap over just fine to another truck even if it is a little older or newer than the 2012 but still gen 4 (computer wise and such).
2. Would the engine plug and play just fine with a truck that had 4wd instead of 2wd?
3. Would we be able to swap over the transmission too if we got a 4wd truck even though it would be coming out of a 2wd or only the engine if that even works out?

Please advise of any other issues we might run into hopefully swapping engine and tranny to another gen 4 truck, most likely looking like it will be 2010 or 2011, as that is what I am finding most of on salvage websites that I can bid on and hope to get cheap. Any help and advice is appreciated, thank you!
