Default Cylinder 8 Intermittent Compression

Hey guys. I've had a good look around and haven't located a thread with anything we haven't tried or the final fix wasn't posted.
I have a Dodge Ram, 2012, 5.7 hemi that has intermittent compression on cylinder 8. We have done all the obvious things along with some very random things (we're clutching at straws at this stage) so anything we've missed, fire away.

So far We've put in a new cam, coil pack, had hydraulic lifters heads overhauled, new valve springs, new rocker shaft, all msd solenoid just in case even tho cylinder 8 is not a msd cylinder 🙄 done cylinder leakage test and all test fine at TDC and BDC, cylinder head been pressure tested and all valves re-seated. Piston rings done about 20k ago.

Any pointers/things you'd try next greatly welcomed!

Just went through my 2nd rebuild with pretty much the same issue. The first rebuild was at 110k (issue began at 95k but Dodge/Chrysler techs "could not find an issue" surprise) because of Cylinder 5, exact same issue that turned into a misfire code and the a complete and total loss of compression. replaced cam/lifters/valves. Fast forward to 240k miles 2nd issue was with Cylinder 8, was told by a local shop that all of the Ram's they had recently seen were the same exact issue & Cylinder. Another complete rebuild (cam/lifter/heads/valves/springs/MDS DELETE, etc.), after much research everyone that i talked to that had high mileage and a lasting build all had one thing in common, they had all done the MDS delete. Not sure if this is the problem but it seemed to be the solution.

Thanks Gary! This is one of the things we were contemplating. Totally removing/deleting the MDS but wasn't sure if this would just hid the current issue. At this point we'll give it a go. I'll let you know how we get on.

Quick question on the above : if we fit the mds delete plugs will we have to do remap and change hydraulic lifters or can we get away with just putting in the blanks ???

Thanks again!

Thanks. That's what we we're contemplating trying. When we fit the mds delete plugs do we have to do remap and change hydraulic lifters or can we get away with just putting in the blanks???

Thank you!

When I was researching, everything I found said to replace the lifters as well, hellcat lifters were recommended, apparently they are Non-MDS lifters. I purchased everything through Jay Greene racing, but I'm hearing that he's out of the parts/package game now because of his shop workload.
