Default 13’ Ram 2500 6.7cummins 4x4

HolsetTurbo actuator has failed on my truck. Looking to replace with best option. Found the Upgraded city deisel replacement at Genos garage that doesn’t require dealer calibration. However they are back ordered until late next month. Does anyone have another good source for these or any other suggestions?

There are a few on ebay for sale. I would make sure that the turbo vgt insides aren't to jammed up with soot/carbon prior to installing a new unit. I have a local turbo rebuilder that would rebuild the entire turbo for around $1000.

Mines on the way out as well, you can hear it sticking at times usually when the engine is still cold. Once warmed up it seems to free-up and functions without any issues.

Is your truck deleted? You could also upgrade to a S300 or S400 turbo, but then you loose the e-brake and spend tons of $$$

truck is deleted and the turbo seems to move freely. Looked into replacing turbo with upgraded version from sinister Deisel that will retain EB, but have a hard time justifying the extra money when the turbo seems to be fine just actuator failed. Also saw in my reading something about a clean out port that could be tapped into the housing of the turbo.... have you heard of this ?

Yes I've heard about the plug, they use it when trucks come in completely sooted/carboned up. These days it isn't as often as they did back when the 6.7L first came out. I have never used/done the clean-out turbo port. Not sure how many dpf miles are on your truck. If everything is clean the vgt portion move freely then you should ok. Cummins sells a brand new actuator, but is not cheap. FYI- Not all of the rebuilt VGT actuators are not equally rebuilt.

An S467/0.91 turbo works pretty decent. I've even tried a S476/1.1 on a stock injector nozzle/CP truck and will wakes the entire truck up a bunch. I tow lots, and can't justify the $$$ to buy one of those fancy butterfly EB (BD/PAC) system that allows you to retain the EB with the S300/S400 T-4 turbo. I've also done a set of twins on a 2012 2500 CTD, stocker VGT turbo over a S475/1.32 T-6, with 100% oversized nozzles, had a 50mm wastegate to bypass the vgt.
