Default Lower intermediary steering boot torn

I noticed that my lower intermediary steering boot is torn (in the engine bay, driver's side, close to the firewall). Looking around, I couldn't find a replacement for just the boot. Only the entire assembly is available (starting at 200$). Does anyone know if the tear is something that needs to be fixed, or if there is a place to buy just the boot?

I doubt you can find just the boot. Likely if you want a new one, it'll be replacing the whole shaft. If the tear isn't too bad, I would just squirt some grease in there, and use some variety of liquid tape to seal it up. RTV might even work.

I'll check it out more in depth either Sunday or Monday. It didn't seem like much of a tear/opening. Thanks!
