I had to replace the arm on the transmission where the shift cable attaches due to corrosion on the cable attachment point.
Now the truck will randomly shift from drive to second gear and will stay there until I juggle the floor shifter around into the neutral position.
Is this a known problem?
Is there an adjustment for the cable length?
How much of the console has to be removed if there is such an adjustment?
Otherwise the transmission works ok. I have about 65000 miles on the truck.

 

Yes there is an adjustment. The adjustment is on the cable that is attach to the lever.
