Steering Issues
Howdy All,
I have a 2009 6.7 4x4 2500 Ram.
And, I have a steering issue. After replacing the all the steering components, and adjusting the free play in the steering box, it drives just about arrow straight going down the road.
The issue is going into a turn, or changing lanes. That is when the steering starts to get squirrely and sloppy. After the lane change, or in the middle of a curve, all goes back to being fine. Exiting the curve, and we are back to the truck wandering in it's lane.
Alignment is good.
Bearings and u-joints seem okay, no movement of noise.
But now, it's getting worse.
Thinking my steering box might be going up.
Any thoughts?

Park a second body in the drivers seat. Unlock the steering (do not start the engine), and have warm body gently rock the steering back and forth. You crawl under the truck and see if there is anything moving that shouldn't, or things that are not moving, that should.
