Default Spark plug issue

Hey everyone. I have a 2012 Ram 1500 4.7L Today I was going to change my spark plugs (upper and lower) and I came across a problem where my spark plug socket won’t fit in the holes in the block. Not the exhaust or intake holes. I tried both snap-on and craftsman 5/8” and 16mm, spark plug sockets and regular sockets and nothing will fit in the holes. Does anyone know if there is a special socket or a thin wall socket that is required for this task? This is driving me nuts. I’ve never had this issue before. Any help is greatly appreciated

Yeah, I believe you need a thin-wall spark plug socket.

I used a snap on 5/8 on mine, same year and model no problem.
What i DID have a problem with was digging out some of the coil on plug boots, they stayed on the plugs on a few of them. I'm glad I had bought new boots before I swapped plugs. I spent an hour and 15 minutes just digging out the boots on #4 and#6 cylinder on the intake side.
