Symptom:
When the truck is first started, the CC can be turned on as indicated by the dash icon.
When the truck moves more than a few feet, the CC dash icon goes off and the CC switch is non-responsive until the truck is restarted.

CEL is NOT on.

Stored codes:
P0579 - Speed Control Switch 1 Performance.
P0581 - Speed Control Switch 1 Circuit High.
P0513 - Invalid Skim Key.
P0591 - Speed Control Switch 2 Performance.

Google search not that helpful.

Any thoughts?

 

If it works the same way it does on the older trucks, the switches on the steering wheel just modify a signal from the PCM, to clue the PCM in to what you want. In your case, I would suspect bad switches, or the clockspring going out.
