Default Low voltage to starter signal wire

09 ram 2500 hemi 5.7
keep in mind this occured some time ago so exact details are unknown but not necessary. Mainly need to know what wire at the column is my signal wire to test for voltage. Already tried swapping the ignition module.

Car stalled when switching from neutral to drive. Nothing from starter/solenoid when trying to restart.

checked voltage at signal wire with it disconnected and connected to solenoid and buddy holding key to start. One gave me nothing, the other gave me low/slowly changing voltage around 3v I believe.

Starter wouldn't jump. Turns out braided wire from brushes to other post of solenoid was fried. Cleaned out starter fixed wire. Still nothing. But jumped power to signal wire and was able to start.

Ended up wiring in toggle switch from POS to signal wire and solenoid. Cranked slower than what youd want but started that way for a while. Burned wire out again. Got a different used starter. Same issue. Got a new starter and did not connect signal wire to toggle switch wiring. No issues so far, but would like to get it resolved.

Starter solenoid wants at least 9 volts to operate properly. On yours though, I do believe there is a relay in the IPM that actually sends power to the starter. Key switch, and the various 'dont start unless in park or neutral' safetys just control the relay.

3v at the signal wire. Not starter. Yes signal wire (yellow) goes to tipm. Yellow wire connects to neutral switch, ignition, etc.

I need to know what wire at the ignition/steering column goes to the signal wire so that I may test it for vtage when is key is in start position.

A wiring diagram would be helpful but I have yet to find one.

Alright so finally getting around to this. Ignition switch on the left side of the steering column, lt. Blu/Rd has power, violet brown shows 1v+ with key on and drops to .5v when key is turned to start. Violet/brw, at the wireless module that goes around the key tumbler shows the same. Red/gry there shows good power.

If I'm understanding this correctly the ignition switch is powered by blu/Rd, wireless module by the gry/red, ignition switch is turned to start, violet wire sends a signal to the wireless module, the communication lines communicate and make sure the other modules are good to go to tell the tipm to send power to the yellow wire to the starter.

So I'm looking at a module issue or an issue at the tipm correct? Easiest way to go about this?
