how to install cb radio
Most people mount them under the dash. I'm not sure how your dash is shaped so I can't say for sure. A lot of CB's come with the metal mount you put on with a couple of screws. If you plan to use it going down the road, keep in mind your ground plane. This will make the signal strongest towards the largest mass of metal. This would be on the right rear of the vehicle. To get your standing wave right, you'll want the long whip antenna. The shorter fiberglass units will work but won't have the range. I like the 108 inch whip with the 6 inch mount. This will give a good quarter wave. Lastly, when you have excesse cable, don't cut it as that changes the SWR. Don't loop it either. This will make the antenna cable a small electromagnet. You'll want to loop the cable back and forth. This will let you get the best signal out and pick up the weaker transmissions.
