I have a 2009 2500 sxt megacab. I cracked my drivers side tow mirrors. It's electric adjust and heated. Can I replace just the glass or do I replace the whole assembly??? Thank you I advance.
There is replacement glass available but definitely determine whether its a factory mopar mirror or an aftermarket mirror before ordering, would be a great opportunity (excuse if its needed) to upgrade to teh 4th gen style mirrors if they interest you at all
If you go in behind the glass theres wire snap ring maybe 3-4 inches in diameter with a number of plastic fingers that the glass snaps into. I used a pic or screw driver and slowly work in a circle and pull it off

Best to look at a 4th gen if that's what you're asking, instead of the corner mirror the whole bottom of the mirror is convex. I like them way better then the 3rd gen set, I have them on my 06, but its definitely a personal preference. I had a 2010 for awhile and that's where I came to love them. To just up and preach the mirror and the 400 bucks to upgrade them is hard if you haven't experienced them

a 2009 megacab would be a 3rd gen? Aside from him posting its a 2500, the 1500 mega would also be a 3rd gen as its really a 2500 chassis, also the mirror pictured is a 3rd gen
If you were considering replacement I would recommend these, I have purchased several sets over the years for 2nd and 3rd gens, very nice quality, I have also purchased amazon and ebay mirrors they are not teh quality and I usually replace them with these 4th Gen Mirrors

Yeah that was going to be kind of my next question is I thought that I actually had a fourth gen with it being an 09 SXT the first year of the 4th gen?? Maybe or last year of 3rd gen?? 2009 megacab 2500 SXT. can I tell by the VIN number??
