Default Can't turn off high beams

I have a 2011 SLT and about two month ago, every time I turn on the headlights, the high beams will automatically come on - it doesn't matter if the switch is in the high beam position or not. The only way I can get them back to low beams is to pull back on the multifunction switch (sometimes it will work sometimes it won't). If they do go back to low beams, after about two to three minutes the high beams will come back on. I was going to go ahead and replace the multifunction switch but wanted to hear other opinions. Thanks.

Do your headlights automagically switch from hi to low (and low to hi) as needed? Some kind of sensor that controls it? Maybe a setting somewhere, or a switch on the dash that says "Auto"??

I have the auto headlight switch that turns on the headlights in the dark but not an auto-high beam feature. Even when I have the headlights on in the standard "on" position, the high beams still come on.

Well, apparently, your headlamp switch along with the dimmer, simply suggest to the TIPM what it should do..... It's possible you have an intermittent on the hi/low switch..... maybe a short in there somewhere, but, it might be the TIPM itself too for that matter..... That's gonna be fun to figger out..
