Default P0520 Dodge Ram 1500 2016

Hey guys I had this code a while back. It’s on a pentastar engine and what solved it was replacing the oil pressure sensor. Definitely a pain in the *** to replace that sensor. About two months have gone by and the code is back again. There is no way the sensor failed already. Anyone have any ideas?

Last time oil and filter were changed? Are you putting in the correct viscosity oil?

Oil changes are done at regular 5k intervals using the appropriate type of oil

Then you either have a wiring problem, or a sensor problem....... assuming, of course, that oil pressure is good.

I replaced the oil pressure sensor on my cummins because it failed. I thought the same as you so I installed a manual oil pressure sensor and low and behold I did indeed have pressure. I started tracking down the "wiring" problem but never found it. Eventually, months down the road, I took some time to pressure wash the bejesus out of the engine and track down a very small oil leak. What I found was that the new sensor was the culprit for both the oil leak and the oil pressure light/code issue. The brand new sensor failed with 2 days on me so don't assume that your new sensor can't be the problem as it may very well be the problem.
