Default Weird Random transmission issue

So this morning I hop in the truck, crank it up, and I noticed the 'shift-o-matic' thing was engaged and in 4th gear. I tried to put it back in normal drive, nothing. Tried to shift it up or down, nothing. When I pushed the gas it revved up but took off very slowly. It kinda felt like it was in limp mode. Ive never experienced limp mode just heard about it in the boards. But I thought limp mode would keep you in 2nd. I was running late for work so I decided to just roll on and figure it out later. But at the first light I decided to turn it off and crank it back up and everything seemed to be working normally.
Was this limp mode?
Was my truck just ****ing with me or is this something else going on?

See if it happens again..... Sometimes, the modules will get 'confused', and you get weird, intermittent problems.... If it doesn't do it again, don't worry about it. If it does, having it checked out wouldn't be a bad idea.....

The more complex things get, the more easily they are confused.
