Default Low oil pressure light (flashing)

Hey yall,

I have a 2012 ram 5.7 and I have had the red low oil pressure light come on and off in my truck. I have replaced the oil pressure sensor and am still receiving the same issue. Sometimes the light will go off for 5 minutes and go away, others I can drive for hours and the light will not turn on. There is oil in the truck and I check frequently (this light scares me LOL) but I am unsure where else to tackle. Could it be I just purchased a bad sensor? Ever since this issue my truck will occasionally take longer than normal to start. This usually happens when the truck is cold. If the tuck normally takes 2-3 seconds to start I would say this takes 5-6 seconds. This is rare but has me thinking this is a oil module issue.

Anyone come across the same issue? Trying to solve this if possible before I result to sending the truck to a shop.

The engine light associated with this issue is P1524 - Oil pressure out of range

From what I am reading, this might be caused by the filter, the oil, or the pump.... (and, of course, bad sender...) Changing the oil is relatively cheap. Put on a GOOD quality filter too. See if anything changes.
