What side is bank 1 2014 ram 1500 5.7
Hello everyone,I have a 2014 ram 1500 5.7 I have sensor issue throwing engine code on dash it says bank 1 sensor 2 is the issue I've heard multiple answers about the side bank 1 is on even dealership had seem not to know anyone know what side bank 1 is on and if I'm correct I think bank 1 sensor 2 is passenger side downstream. Looking for answers before I swap part Thank you all for your time and knowledge.

Bank 1 would be the cylinder bank that has cylinder 1 on it. You may be able to confirm by finding a fuel injector or coil primary wire with a cylinder ID label, or you can look at the front of the engine to see which cylinder bank has the forward-most cylinder, and that will be cylinder 1. The cylinders will be slightly offset from bank-to-bank to allow the piston rods to travel in a straight line. This can vary between engine manufacturers and engine models, so since you're getting inconsistent information it might be best to use the above information to confirm yourself. I haven't yet had the need to figure this out on my 2014 Ram 5.7 so I'm not confident in telling you which side is bank 1. And yes, sensor 2 will be the downstream sensor.
Just be aware that there aren't typically codes that say a particular part is bad, but rather codes that indicate a part or circuit is providing unexpected data. You don't mention the particular code number you're reading, but it could be reporting an issue with a bad catalytic converter, a broken wire or loose connection, etc. Just changing the oxygen sensor won't necessarily resolve the diagnostic code.
