AM/FM Radio stumper
Hey there everyone...
I have a concern, had for a number of years. My 2012 Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi is fantastic, never a big issue, treated me very well as Ive treated her very well. So these past X amount of years, my am/fm radio works, then doesnt for couple months, then works for a week then not again. Currently it's been about 4mos without am/fm but funny enough, Sirius works, CD's work, Bluetooth works but that damn am/fm is stumping me. Lots have told me it has something to do with the TIPM and the entire TIPM has to be replaced. I'm sorry but that just sounds like a cash grab.
I've changed the antenna, the cable, the mast, replaced fuses, pulled dash apart and checked wiring and this and that. Seriously, just getting tired of chasing ghosts in the machine. I'm at a loss.
Anybody have a suggestion at all??
Thanks,
Mike from Alberta Canada

Do you know which model of head unit your truck has? When the AM/FM doesn't work do you just hear static or no sound at all? Does the tuner still stop on stations, or does it not find any stations either? I'm not sure I'll have much for ideas without taking the radio apart, but answers to these questions may help narrow down the likely area of the issue. I agree that if the CD player and Sirius work the TIPM is most likely NOT the issue.

But, welcome to DF! I'll move this to the fourth gen ram section for ya. Maybe someone there will have a clue.
