alphaobd won't connect 2010 1500
I've surfed quite a few threads. The only ones I really found that talked about connection issues were for the 5th gen. I bought
. I have the software key. I cannot get it to connect. I've tried a few different connector types in the software drop down. I did the firmware update. I tried with the vehicle in on, in run and in just acc. None of them worked. It always timed out and wouldn't connect. I then popped the obd port out, blew on it to make sure it was clean, had an NES flashback, then tried again. Still no dice. Is there something I'm missing? Is the cord the wrong one? I'm unsure what to do next. Has anyone been able to get this to work on the classic?

OBDWiz will only get basic OBDII data..... If that. I was seriously underwhelmed by it's capabilities.....
That said, yeah, that cable should work. OBDII is a standard..... Why it won't connect though, is a very good question. I used a bluetooth adapter, and that worked reasonably well.... But, it only got basic data. Anything Dodge specific, and nope. Software didn't have a clue.

Ive had pretty good luck with my ancient $12 ELM327 adapter and alpha obd... Used it for everything from programming new keys to changing my tire size and correcting shift points and speedo. I have a 2015 though.
