Default Any AlphaOBD users out there?

Needed to program a key so I bought that self programmable one from Amazon but it said it couldn't read the ECU, so I returned it.
Then I stumbled accross Alpha

OBD and thought this just might work.
Bought it, installed it, installed the license key and hooked it up with hardwire OBDLinkEX, and status shows connected. Awesome, or so I thought.
All it will do is read error codes - nothing else. Even if it just simply trys to read the PIN it says "No data received from ECU...".
Followed the assistance protocols and no changes.

Any advise on how to make this thing work?

What model and year Ram are you working on? I've used AlfaOBD on my 2014 Ram 1500 and was able to successfully read my PIN. But, starting in 2018 I think it was (maybe 2016?) Rams started using SecureGateWay (SGW) which prevents scan tools from accessing really anything more than the engine diagnostic codes unless you either get an AutoAuth subscription or a SGW bypass cable. I'm not sure if the AutoAuth subscription will work with AlfaOBD, but a bypass cable should. It's not all that easy to access the location to install the typical bypass cable on the Ram (located behind the radio head unit) but if you find one that plugs into the Star Connector that's often a bit easier to get to.
