I put a spare tire carrier on my truck and it blocks the camera, I need to relocate it to below the license plate which was relocated to the spare tire carrier.

I see.

Yeah, that makes the stock feller kinda useless..... See if your unit will accept an aux input for the camera, and mount another one there. Other option would be to remove if from it's current location, (in the tailgate handle?) then extend/reroute the wire harness to the new location. Mounting the camera is gonna be the fun part.

How do I get the camera out? The tire carrier can with brackets to install the camera on the license plate bracket.

I would imagine you would have to remove the tailgate handle from the tailgate, and then it should be pretty easy..... Not sure if there is an actual wiring harness that goes to the camera though, or if it is just a set of contacts on the bed/tailgate, that meet up when the tailgate is closed.

The camera comes out from the backside. Flip the tailgate down, remove the panel from the inside of the tailgate that covers the latch and linkage mechanisms. There are two Torx (I don't recall if they are T-15 or T-20) screws that hold the camera in. I found it to be easier to unplug the camera from the wiring once the camera was unmounted from the tailgate. The harness does travel through the larger harness at the center bottom of the tailgate that also has the wiring for the tailgate lock. I don't recall how many wires are in the connector to the camera.
