They had free shipping and were only 214$. I'd figure its worth a shot.

Shipping was fast and they were well packaged. I opened them up and they were bright and shiny. The brackets are black and all hardware was corrosion free.

Instructions were easy enough. I had the bars on in about 40 minutes.

First impressions are good. You can see the brackets, but that is okay. I jumped on them and the tubes flex a little but for as long as they are that is to be expected. I think you could get into trouble if you weigh more than 400 lbs or stand two big people on at once. I think they are going to be just fine though.







Don't mind the dirty truck, it is hard to keep them clean in Iowa winters.

 

When you step onto the bar with your foot pointed toward the cab, in a normal stepping in positon, does your foot hit the cab of the truck?

If you were to use the middle of your foot, yes. I use the ***** of my feet though, and they do not hit.

 

That's good. The factory bars are too close to the cab and when you step on them with the ball of your foot, you hit and mark the cab with your shoe. Thanks again.

 

well i tested it again. it is close, but you can get plenty of foot on there for a good step.

 

Good stuff, sarguy. They look good. How would you rate their sturdiness?

It looks like they mount in the same location as the Mopar units, although I can't be positive about that. Looks like they don't use the cab mount bolts, is that correct?

 

they use the mopar oval holes on the body.

they are sturdy enough, but if you are planning on jumping on them or are over 400ish lbs, i'd get a different set. i jumped on them and they flexed a little, but that is to be expected with this kind of step. they don't flex when i step on them normally and i weigh 175 lbs.

 

I'm a big ole boy (hence the name Big Country) and I just want to ensure they aren't like a lot of the weak aluminum versions. The lady told me the oval bars I was looking at are rated to "approximately 350lbs" which is good.

update. these bars, after 1000 miles, still work great. they feel solid and return to shiny after nasty iowa road grime sits on them.
