Hi. I'm in the market to purchase a lightly used 5th gen 1500, and one of the features I want is the overhead-view when backing up which is not available with tow mirrors.

I've seen several trucks for sale which would otherwise meet my needs except they had tow mirrors. Does anyone know if the wiring harness for the standard mirror and tow mirror are the same, and is swapping from tow to standard as "simple" as swapping the mirrors, and then updating the computer programming with something like AlphaOBD?

 

The 'surround view', or whatever dodge calls it, isn't available with Tow mirrors?????? I am REAL curious what their reasoning there is.....
