2019 Ram 1500 Classic
I took a careful look in the drivers footwell, and indeed there is a small panel, with a indent for a small screwdriver to pry it open. In this panel I found a lever, with a lanyard attached. After some more research I found this to be the emergency transmission neutral switch. You pull this out should I have the truck in park, and need a tow. Since if the battery is dead, the dial drive does not have a mechanical linkage to the transmission. I'm still looking for that OBII port. I'd like to plug in my Foxwell Scan Tool to see if that roof system threw a code. I'm also having a problem with my local Ram Dealer. They took the truck in for troubleshooting the sun roof. Charged me $135.00 troubleshooting fee, told me they tested the buttons, could hear a noise, but would have to contact Ram for advise about further repair, or troubleshooting. The truck is just out of warranty. I had the truck in to the dealer last Fall for a leak somewhere in the cab. The dealer tried to say the truck had been in a flood, since we bought it in Louisiana. This claim failed to wash, since we bought the truck used from a dealer near New Orleans, and no floods were reported for a year prior to the truck being sold. It was found the leak came from the cab rear window seals. The dealer, after prodding from Rams Customer Car, fixed the problem. I kind of think the problem with the sun roof is possibly related. I think they took apart the sun roof looking for the original leak, and possibly messed up something in the sun roof system. Since the weather here in New Hampshire, has become more Spring like, it would be nice to drive with the open sun roof, vs the A/C.
