Default Let's talk Biodiesel

So I've tried searching. biodiesel has been discussed to some degree here. However I have not found anything about self refined biodiesel (WVO) in newer CTD engines such as the 2017.

I've read conflicting information about this so far. Some say that newer engines won't run it because of the injectors clogging.

Others say that it's totally fine as long as it's diluted with kerosene or methanol or whatever recipe they offer at that time to make it.

Some say that the rubber and internals are on newer models will not handle the he refined biodiesel and will destroy the engine. Others say that's insane as long as it's refined properly...

With has prices crazy and having access to as much WVO ad I want locally I figured it couldn't hurt to do the research and see if it's worth it. (I have all the free time in the world)

From what I can find, most of the newer (post 2007 or so) cummins engines will run on B20, but, tends to shorten filter life. Some also report it reduces oil change intervals as well.....

Yea I've read that on the Cummins FAQ I think. But can't find anything reliable about b100.

I've heard that it reduces the filter life after the first change then it's normal from there. (Apparently ALOT of it depends on how well the bio is refined).

So much conflicting info.

As always Heyyou I appreciate your input! Hope all is well!

I would expect B100 is a lot like E85... If your engine wasn't specifically designed to run on it, best not to use it.
