Default Heads up!

I worked in Logistics for 35 years before retiring. I never just toss items in the bed of my truck. A lot of people do and just take it easy so it doesn't slide around much. If you have a fairly new Ram, make sure you strap your load down until the dealer fixes your truck.

Why strap down you ask? It's just trash. Have a D.O.T. enforcement officer behind you and you WILL get a ticket for an unsecured load.

I'm not sure which browser I'm using. It worked for me. I copied the text and am posting it here.Safety is a top priority for automakers regarding drivers, passengers, and pedestrians, and sometimes a vehicle recall is necessary to make sure that your vehicle won’t experience a recurring issue. That is the case for truck manufacturer Ram when a press release by Stellantis announced that they will be recalling 1.4 million pickups over tailgate components.

According to a review of customer service records, it was discovered that tailgate striker plates on certain pickup trucks were not sufficiently aligned, which could lead to the rear door panel opening on its own while mid-drive. This kind of safety issue could lead to unsecured cargo falling out of the truck bed and out onto the road.

While there have not been any reports of injuries as a result of loose cargo, Ram has voluntarily decided to issue the recall. This recall arrives on the heels of 736 warranty claims reporting of the tailgate issue.

The only pickups affected by the recall are 2019-2022 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models. All other vehicles equipped with Ram’s multifunction tailgate and Ram 1500 Classic pickups are not affected. Vehicles installed with sensors alerting drivers of insecure tailgates are also not affected by the recall.

Customers can expect to receive the recall notice as soon as January 2023 prompting them to visit a service station, which will be provided for free.
