2019 Ram 2500 Big Horn Front Brakes
Can anyone tell me definitively what the front pads are ceramic or semi metallic. I called dodge dealership they told me it doesn't say what they are i find that hard to believe. I almost fell off my chair when they quoted me a price for pads and rotors. The pads and rotors lasted 70,000 miles. We do tow a fifth wheel every other weekend. The factory pads and rotors worked great. No squealing or brake fade.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
Semi-metallic is what I used in the past on everything. Great stopping power without noise. Did leave a lot of dust. Last Ford truck had ceramic and they were noisy when they were cold but no dust. Semi-metallic are around $65 with lifetime at O'Reillys and the ceramic are $126. I think it really comes down to dust, or not dust.
The trick is, to get some of the spray-on anti-squeal. Disk Brake Quiet is the stuff I use. Spray it on the back side of the pads, (generously...) let it cure for 15-20 minutes, till it's tacky, then install the bad. Even the ceramic pads are quiet with that stuff.
