I wouldn't put that on your car if you value your injectors, fuel line seals and fuel pump. The E85 will chew through those things over time. E85 vehicles that come from the factory are equipped with special components to protect against this.

I would. Many mistaken methanol for ethanol. Ethanol is not corrosive like everyone says - it's just moonshine. Methanol iscorrosiveand you would need to change out the components like stated. I've been using ethanol my whole life on the farm and run my 1/4 mile car on on E85. It doesn't harm a thing. It's better than gasoline.

I've seen those conversion kits and they work really well too.

You are correct, ethanol is just alcohol. The problem is, certain components in the fuel system are not protected from prolonged exposure to ethanol. These components are the rubber seals, injectors and fuel pump. They will work with ethanol, but you will encounter failures over time. Ethanol is not as gnarly as Methanol, but it is still not what the materials that compose a fuel system are designed for. You can do whatever you want on your car, but on my car I will not run Ethanol without changing the fuel system. Look for yourself, check the part numbers on the fuel pump modules at the dealer for a flex fuel truck and a non-flex fuel truck. They will be different because there is a more expensive pump in the FF truck.
