Up for sale is my 2002 Ram 408 Street Rod…
A brief background on the truck…
I purchased this truck at the very beginning of this year with the 408 stroker but it had an oil pressure problem. I bought it, pulled the engine and had my local performance machine shop go through it with a fine tooth comb. We discovered the bearing clearances were way out of spec on the mains and rods. We ended up going with oversized bearings to cure the oil psi problem. While it was there the block was hot tanked, honed, new freeze plugs etc etc. Crank was professionally turned and balanced as well.
This truck is a beast to say the least, with a very long list of mods. I’ve broken them down below, but I am sure I am forgetting something here or there. It hasn’t been dyno’d or raced since the rebuild. Currently has about 300 miles on it since the rebuild with that number climbing daily. I am driving it to and from work in it everyday. If I had to guess I’d say its touching 450hp, but that is just speculation. I know it is almost impossible to keep traction on any kind of wet surface.
Why am I selling?
This truck is a total case of a boy and his toy, it’s a blast and I love it but I have a wife and son and I really just need something a bit tamer with more room, either extended cab or quad cab. So yes I am open to trades depending on what you got. The truck is very loud, very obnoxious and everyone around my town LOVES it. I get 2-3 compliments a day on its looks and its sound. It is a real head turner, as you hear it coming before you see it
